How does your media product represent particular social groups?
Which social groups have you represented?
The social group that I have represented in my music magazine is teenagers between the ages of 13 and 15. Also my music magazine will appeal to female teenagers. The music group I have represented in my music magazine is Pop fans.
How have you represented them?
I have represented teenagers in my magazine between the ages 13 and 15 because I have used bright colours and really girl colours. The colours that I used for my music magazine were dark blue, light blue, purple, dark pink, and light pink and white. The langue that I used for my music magazine was kept simple, so that the teenagers would be able to understand the magazine. The amount of images to texts on my front cover was I had one photograph that covered the entire front cover. My front cover text was placed around the image in short sentences or just one or two words. The text would also be in colour that wasn’t black. The text boxes were also had a bright colour put behind the text, to make the text stand out to the person looking at the magazine. My contents page has two columns of writing that is spread out. The writing has headings in one colour and the information in a different colour. I have editors message in the top Corner of the contents page, this is a short paragraph welcoming the readers to the magazine. I have also put an image next to the editor’s message. Down the middle of the contents page I have put images of the bands and artist my magazine contains. My double page spread has a main image in the bottom left hand Conner and then in the last column of my double page spread I have put five small pictures of the girls in Candy Girls. The text in my article is a lot of writing, so to make the writing seem less I have put the text at the beginning and end of my article is in one colour. The members of the Candy Girls each have their own colour representing each girl. This way the reader will not only be able to establish the person who is talking by the name, but also by the colour that the girl uses. The double page is bright because I wanted to catch the reader’s eye when they are reading the magazine article.
